Camp Lionheart is truly a place of hope and healing for kids in the State of Ohio who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. Kids and teens ages 8-17 who have experienced the death of a loved one come from all over Central Ohio for a whole to week to grieve, learn ways to cope with their loss, make friends and have a lot of fun! Unfortunately, time may not heal all wounds we encounter in life. This means that sometimes we need to seek out additional help to facilitate healing. Camp Lionheart provides kids and teens with the compassion and expertise needed to help face the difficult task of grieving.

Camp Lionheart is a 501(c)3 in it's 19th year of existence and continues to provide a therapeutic, fun and healing program for kids. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to call or email if additional information is needed.

Camp Lionheart is made possible by grants from the The Zangmeister Cancer Center, The GPD Foundation, Boarhead, The Athens Foundation, Jocarno Fund, Solly and Sammy Foundation for Peace, and generous support from Alison Rose, Project Linus, many private donations, generous families who are able to donate to our program, and other wonderful contributions and fundraisers.

Camp Lionheart is always looking for additional grants, donations and sponsors to assist children in need of financial assistance due to the immense increase in need in our community. If you are interested in sponsoring a child or able to make in-kind donations towards camp costs, please contact our Clinical Director, Kristen Santel, LISW-S at 614-506-7959 or camplionheartcolumbus@gmail.com, or visit our "donate" section.

**NOTE: THE CAMP LIONHEART PROGRAM IS GROWING EXPONENTIALLY. Due to the suffering and loss in our community as a result of increased traumatic loss, terminal illness and cancer, suicide and overdose death, Covid19, etc., our program is in great need of continued support. We ask our community to help us surround the children with resources around postvention and mental health support during a difficult and challenging time. Our program opens up applications each January and fills within three weeks, turning many children and families away each year. Please contact the Clinical Director if you or your business or organization can make a tax-deductible donation to help support the healing in our community.

The Camp Lionheart program is committed to it's grieving campers and families in providing the best experience possible. The Camp Lionheart program completes a program evaluation each year to ensure it is working towards the best outcomes. For more information on these results and how they are used to inform best practices and the continued development of the clinical program, please contact the Clinical Director, Kristen Santel, LISW-S.
